From the best I can understand with both sides of this issue, it appears that Dr. Burzynski, one of the youngest people in Poland to earn an M.D. is also one of the only individuals to hold a patent on a cancer treatment. Pharmaceutical companies hold most patents, from what I understood from this movie, Burzynski.
The movie laid out a lot of good information, testimonials from families who had been helped, in what seemed to be a non-toxic approach to fighting cancer, with results that seemed to support these claims of recovery. In some of the cases reviewed from the National Institute of Health five out of seven patients with large tumors were dissolved.
The movie, Burzynski, shared the story of a 15-year battle of the government fighting to shut this doctor down, including claims that they during this time also took his approach and tried to do their own trials, resulting in trying to steal some of his patents. In the end, he won all appeals. This movie was then made to document and educate people, in my opinion, to show us what can go on “behind the scenes.”
