Years ago, when I went through a virus the doctors couldn’t help me with, my boss had heard about a place that did “fasting” to help with “healing.” He offered to send me there to see if that would help. I appreciated the offer, but needed to understand more.
As I researched what “fasting” was and whether or not I was willing to try it, I learned the following. Some people “fast” for spiritual or religious reasons; some people “fast” for healing purposes. My understanding from my research was that our body had energy that we used for anything we did. When people “fast” the energy that was used to digest food instead can go to “repairing” the body. When we “rest” from anything, we “recharge.”
I ended up going to Esser’s Ranch, under Dr. William Esser, and did two different supervised “fasts” on just water—one for ten days, and a year later one for nine days. I felt this was a piece of my overall healing regiment that really helped.
In my book, Our Bodies: The Optimal Design, I share more of what I learned. For more information, click here.
