Your Preference: Listening to Our Teens

In All Jacked Up, teenagers share that the “Media tells us we are a powerful consumer because we have disposable income. Parents and teachers tell us junk food is bad, but that’s what they serve us at school and parents pick that up for us because they’re too busy.”

This movie follows several teenagers with their thoughts and research on what the food supply may be doing to them. Interesting perspective. Gives you something to think about.

The movie starts out making a statement I had never thought about, “Fast food – the amount of fat and sweet is out of proportion. Fast food is not bad, it’s the proportions that are bad.” If you had the choice between a sandwich made at home, and a fast food sandwich, it’s not the same. According to http://www.caloriecount.com/calories-wendys-double-cheeseburger-fries-coke-i411862, a double cheeseburger, fries and a coke are 1380 calories.
