Different Reasons People Become Vegan

In the movie Veducated, each week focused on different reasons or learning points about why the author choose to go vegan, and the training she was taking these three “volunteers” through to explore becoming vegan. Another week talked about factory farming and how many small family farms have turned into large industrial operations where the animals are treated like machines. They claim that there is 340% more milk produced than in 1950. Milk is only produced when animals give birth, so babies are taken from cows within 48 hours so the humans can get their milk.

There are “laws” to “protect” animals, but they don’t apply to birds and the laws that do exist are not adequately enforced. Birds make up 90% of the animals killed each year. The website, http://www.animalequality.net/food, talks about how many animals are killed annually and things to consider as solving that problem through becoming a vegan.

The movie asks the question, “How can you walk away from this film, and not re-evaluate some things?”
