The video, Farmageddon, goes through several individual farmers that have been watched and regulated by the government, in what seems to be a pretty extreme and over the top way. These stories seem to be from various individual local farmers from different parts of the country, so they definitely made me think.
The movie opens up with one family, who had moved here from England. The husband had a PhD and had been a food inspector if I remember the movie correctly. They decided to open a sheep farm up north, and brought the sheep over from Europe. The family had papers and knew and could prove the lineage of these sheep, but the government continued to try and shut them down. Eventually all of their sheep were taken and killed because of “possible” mad cow disease, a disease sheep have never had. It didn’t seem to matter that the couple had the research to support that there were no issues.
