Veducated shared that 40% of the Standard American Diet (SAD) comes from animal products, 50% of our calories come from processed foods like pasta, sugar, salad oil, soft drinks, pretzels, chips, and cold cereals, and 9% comes from white potatoes (1/2) and from unrefined plant food (UPF), legumes, beans, fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds (1/2). In my mind that is less than 5% of SAD comes from natural plant food – and the movie does go on to say that when we increase this part of our food intake, cancer and heart disease almost disappear. True? False? Is it worth considering?
