Eating for Immunity

When I went through a virus doctors couldn’t cure over 30 years ago, something deep within me told me to “work on rebuilding my immune system naturally.” It has been an amazing journey in which I have learned so much about our bodies, that I actually wrote a book to share what I learned, Our Bodies: The Optimal Design, (www.ourbodies.us).

According to Vitality Foods for Health & Fitness, by Pierre Jean Cousin and Kirsten Hartvig, they share “Eat for immunity follows a plant-based approach to improving immunity that is relevant to every style of eating—carnivore, pescetarian, vegetarian and vegan.” The goal, as you learn on your own personal journey, is to select the foods and choices that will help your body naturally do what it is supposed to do, and cut down on the foods and choices that ‘tax’ your body and make it work harder. In essence, this helps you to use your body as one of your healing modalities, one of your pieces of “natural medicine.”
