Why is it today that organics are now growing at over 20% annually? Farmers use to feed 5-6 people, now they feed 126 people. Seeds that have been “genetically modified” are “owned” by the company that “genetically” modified them, so farmers are being held accountable for “patent infringement” even if “seeds were blown into a neighboring, non-genetically modified crop field, according to the movie, Food, Inc.
The movie goes on to say that in some states it is against the law to criticize food, in some states, even when claims are back by scientists.
So, are consumers being kept in the dark about what they eat, where their food comes from? People are beginning to demand good wholesome food, as seen in the rise of demand for organically grown, or non-genetically modified, or grass fed foods. We vote with our dollars.
