This movie, All Jacked Up, brought up something that really alarmed me, and that I didn’t realize or know before. It referred to the book, Slaughterhouse, with its claim that when pigs are killed at one slaughterhouse (150,000 pigs are killed a week there) the animals are put into scolding water to be killed. They are supposed to be unconscious, but workers have claimed that not all animals are unconscious and they can see the fear of death in the animals’ eyes. The question they bring up is does the fear of death these animals feel, go into their tissue?
They say, and I agree, that we deserve food that is healthy, easy, and efficient. They also claim about big food companies, “They know there are health issues but they are not financially responsible for it.”
