The movie, All Jacked Up, brings up that our bodies are designed that when you eat the right things, the body is balanced to use what it needs in the right balances. However, when you feed it too much, it gets confused and doesn’t work when too much sugar goes into the blood. That’s when disease can, and often does, happen.
The movie challenges us to be a skeptical consumer and reminds us that we have to care about our own health. They asked an interesting question… “Do you think the large companies care more than you care about your own health?” It is not a matter of trusting them or not. It’s a matter of taking ownership and taking care of you. Do we let dopamine and serotonin control our calories? Is it real or artificial?
Food is an opportunity to slow down and take a breath. A healthier body increases emotional health.
